1. Who we are
Rabbit Courses (“we”, “us”) is a registered business name of Samuel John Eleveld, a sole trader in Australia (ABN 31 812 509 512). Rabbit Courses operates the website at rabbitcourses.com and the Security+ course available through it (together, “the service”). Our contact address for everything in these terms is support@rabbitcourses.com.
Rabbit Courses is an independent business. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by CompTIA, Inc. CompTIA and Security+ are registered trademarks of CompTIA, Inc., and we use them only to describe the exam the course prepares you for.
2. The service
The service is an online course for the CompTIA Security+ exam, in two versions (SY0-801 and SY0-701): interactive lessons, exercises, spaced-repetition reviews, practice exams, progress tracking and related material, delivered in your web browser. We also offer a free lesson at /try/ that needs no account. These terms apply to the free lesson and the website too.
By creating an account, buying a plan or using the service, you agree to these terms. When you buy a plan, you accept them by ticking the box “I agree to the Terms of Service” beside the buy buttons; checkout only opens once it is ticked, and we keep a record of which version of these terms you accepted with your purchase. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
3. Your account
An account is created for the email address you use at checkout. You must be at least 16 years old, or have a parent or guardian’s consent, to hold an account. Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account unless it was accessed because of our mistake, in which case tell us as soon as you notice and we will help.
Access is personal and non-transferable. One account is for one learner. Sharing your sign-in, pooling an account between people, or reselling access is not allowed, and we may suspend or close accounts that do it. The course’s scheduling and readiness estimates only work for one person anyway.
4. Access and plans
We sell access for a fixed period: currently 3 months or 12 months. Access starts when your purchase is confirmed and ends at the end of the period. A purchase is a one-time payment, not a subscription; nothing renews automatically. If you buy again before your access ends, the new period is added to the end of the current one.
During your access period you can use everything in the course, including updates and new content we release. When it ends, you keep your account and your progress, you can download your data at any time, and you can renew to continue where you left off. The course content itself is only available while you have access.
The course covers two versions of the exam, SY0-801 and SY0-701, and every plan includes both. CompTIA sets exam versions and their launch and retirement dates, not us. Whether and when we release content for a later version, and whether it is included in an existing plan, is announced on the website; we do not promise it as part of a plan unless the pricing page says so at the time you buy.
5. Payments and refunds
Payments are processed through Stripe Managed Payments. The merchant of record for our orders is Sold through Link, LLC, an affiliate of Stripe (“Link”): at checkout and on your receipt you will see “Sold through Link”, and your card statement shows a charge from LINK.COM* followed by our name. Link takes your payment on Stripe’s checkout page, sends your receipt and invoice by email, and handles questions about the payment itself; Stripe handles fraud checks and payment disputes. The payment terms shown at checkout also apply to the transaction, and so do Link’s own terms (link.com/terms) if you use a Link account. We remain responsible for the course itself: questions about it, and refund requests under our policy, come to us.
Prices are shown in US dollars and include any sales tax, VAT or GST and any fees: the price shown is the total you pay in US dollars, and nothing is added to it at checkout. If you are outside the United States, the checkout may also offer to charge you in your own currency. That amount is converted by Stripe and includes a currency conversion fee of 2–4%, which Stripe sets; you can choose to pay in US dollars instead, which costs exactly the price shown. Your bank may charge its own fees for a payment in a foreign currency.
You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of your purchase, for any reason, by emailing support@rabbitcourses.com from the address you bought with. Link can also refund a purchase within 60 days of it under Link’s own refund policy, for example if you did not receive what you paid for. When a refund is issued, by us or by Link, your access ends. Our refund policy has the details. Nothing in this section limits rights you have under consumer law where you live.
6. Acceptable use
Use the service to learn. Do not:
- copy, scrape, download in bulk, redistribute or sell the lessons, questions, explanations, diagrams or any other course content;
- share your account or help someone else get access without paying;
- try to get around access controls, probe or overload our systems, or interfere with other learners;
- upload or send anything unlawful, or anything that infringes someone else’s rights, through the support form or help bot;
- use the help bot for anything other than questions about the service.
If you find a security problem, please tell us at bugreport@rabbitcourses.com rather than exploiting it. We will not take action against good-faith security research that follows this request.
7. Our content
Everything in the course (text, questions, explanations, diagrams, software, design) belongs to Rabbit Courses or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws. Your purchase gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the content for your own exam preparation during your access period, and nothing more. All exam questions in the course are original and written by us; they are not, and are not claimed to be, questions from any real exam.
We try hard to keep the content accurate, and we fix mistakes when they are reported. But the exam objectives, the exam itself and the underlying technology change, and no course can promise to be complete or error-free.
8. Your data
Our privacy policy explains what we collect and why. In short: your email and a hashed password, your learning progress so that it syncs between your devices, purchase records from Stripe (not your card details), and support messages. You can export your data from your account page and delete your account from the course’s settings. We do not sell your data and we do not run advertising trackers.
9. No guarantees
We do not guarantee that you will pass the exam, achieve any score, or get any job or qualification. The readiness estimate in the course is an estimate built from your own answers; it is not a prediction we stand behind, and it tells you when it does not have enough data. Passing depends on your study, your experience and the exam itself.
The service is provided as it is. We aim for it to be available all the time, but it may be interrupted for maintenance, by faults, or by things outside our control.
10. Liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything arising from the service or these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost earnings, a missed exam date or a failed exam. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law and consumer protection law where you live.
11. Changes and ending
We may update these terms. If a change matters to you, we will tell you by email or in the course before it takes effect, and continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms. We may improve, change or retire features of the course; we will not remove the core of what you bought during your access period.
You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why unless the law prevents it. If we close the service entirely during your access period, we will refund the unused part of your plan.
12. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws in force in Australia, and disputes are subject to the Australian courts, without taking away protections you have under the consumer law of the country where you live. If any part of these terms is found invalid, the rest still applies.
